Blocked drains and toilets are a common household issue that can be incredibly frustrating to deal with. There are several common causes of blocked drains and toilets, with one of the main culprits being the buildup of hair and soap scum in the pipes. When we shower or wash our hands, small pieces of hair can easily get washed down the drain and combine with soap residue to create a sticky blockage.
Another common cause of blocked drains is the accumulation of food scraps, grease, and oil in kitchen sinks. When these substances are washed down the drain, they can solidify and create a stubborn clog that prevents water from flowing freely.
Toilets can also become blocked due to excessive toilet paper usage or flushing items like wet wipes, sanitary products, or even small toys down the toilet. These items can get stuck in the pipes and create a blockage that is difficult to clear without professional help.
It's important to be mindful of what we're putting down our drains and toilets to prevent blockages from occurring. Regularly cleaning out drains with a plunger or drain snake can help remove any buildup before it becomes a major issue. If you do encounter a blocked drain or toilet, it's best to call a plumber who has the tools and expertise to effectively unclog your pipes and get everything flowing smoothly again.
When a drain or toilet becomes severely blocked, professional plumbers have the expertise and tools to resolve the issue effectively. For residents in Hobart, relying on a licensed plumber ensures that the blockage is cleared safely and thoroughly, restoring your plumbing system to optimal functionality.
The first step a plumber takes is diagnosing the problem. They use advanced tools like drain cameras to inspect the pipes and identify the exact location and cause of the blockage. This precise assessment prevents unnecessary digging or disassembly and allows for a targeted solution.
For simple blockages, plumbers often use augers or plungers to dislodge the obstruction. However, for more stubborn clogs, high-pressure water jetting is a preferred method. This technique uses powerful streams of water to break apart debris and clear the pipes without causing damage.
In cases where tree roots are involved, plumbers may use specialized cutting tools to remove the roots and restore water flow. They may also recommend pipe relining to prevent future root intrusion and strengthen the affected pipes.
In conclusion, professional plumbers offer the expertise and equipment needed to address blocked drains and toilets efficiently. Their methods ensure long-term solutions, saving you time, money, and stress.

Work was completed competently but communication about costs was non existent. * I agreed to hourly charge on the phone but was not told it included travel time. * I was not given any indication on the cost of replacement fittings - and the plumber on site wouldn't even estimate, so have been stuck with the cost. * Was charged an Administrative and Fuel Surcharge which was not agreed to. * Have been charged some odd line items such as 'silicone' as well as 'Sundry'. * Was charged a high cost for freight for an item they ordered in Would not recommend.
Rosetta plumbing has some good knowledgeable workers. I had a very experienced plumber booked this week. He fixed my problems and as I have a slight problem with a water tank, he offered great solutions. I am away till March & will book Rosetta plumbers again. Extremely happy with them overs the past few years on & off. In the past I had broken sewerage pipes reasonable job but Rosetta plumber fixed. LynnFrancis TAS
We had Rosetta come around and redo a previous persons work. the difference is easily noticeable. Crisp clean tile lines, doors open and close easily and no more leaks! We will be using Rosetta Group again. Thank you.
I was looking for a professional plumbing company with specialist knowledge of domestic solar hot water cylinder installation involving connection to the wet back on my wood heater and power supply. I wasn't disappointed. The team provided excellent and timely before, during and after service advice and problem solving. They coordinated tradesmen as needed to finish the job within a week with minimal time without hot water.
I'm deeply disappointed with my experience at Rosetta. The prices they charge are utterly shocking and difficult to believe. Last week, my toilet was completely clogged. After a recommendation from another plumber, I contacted Rosetta and paid a $77 urgent fee. Initially, I was satisfied with their prompt response. However, what followed was a series of questionable actions and exorbitant pricing. After partially unclogging the toilet, they sent an estimate the next day: $1100 for the initial visit, $2200 for excavation and finding the B.I.O., and $2500 for pipe replacement - totaling a staggering $5800! Shocked, I sought a second opinion. Another plumber resolved the issue for $2500 in total, adjusting the sunken pipe without replacement. Throughout this ordeal, I communicated with Rosetta's Director, who insisted their estimate was just that - an estimate. He implied the actual price would be lower, but I fail to understand why they would provide an estimate that would scare customers away. The director claimed this practice of overestimating was a sign of honesty, suggesting that other plumbers lure customers with low prices and then increase them mid-job. Ironically, my work was completed without such price hikes. The final invoice for Rosetta's initial visit was $987.80, not far from their $1100 estimate. This accuracy contradicts the director's claims about their estimates being significantly higher than actual costs. I would like to emphasize once again that other plumbers have quoted a total price of $2,500, which includes the initial visit. I'm puzzled as to why this Director continues to believe that charging $2,200 for digging in addition to the $987.80 already paid is less expensive than the $2,500 total price. Moreover, if they decide to replace the pipes, it will result in an additional cost of $2,500. I strongly advise potential customers to thoroughly review all negative feedback about Rosetta before considering their services. It could save you from a similarly frustrating and costly experience.
It is best to address the issue promptly to prevent potential flooding, water damage, and costly repairs.
